Peter & Karen, who have recently taken over at the Royal Oak – Laxfield, have a very clear vision of what makes a welcoming public house and restaurant. With a long history of restaurants run by his family, Peter started life learning the trade from the posts of washing the dishes, through to waiter and front of house – he has also a lot of experience of managing bars and believes the giving great service means everything yet costs little. Karen has also lots of catering experience from her early years of owning and running her own Fish & Chip restaurant to being the focus of catering and entertainment in the family home – together they have made an awesome combination
